Letter to a Neighbor

Dear Heather and John,

You may not have heard, but I recently died. I wrote this letter some time ago to allow myself to rest peacefully knowing the people I appreciated in my life know it. You have been the best of neighbors. I enjoyed our conversations, our parties, and most of all your friendship. We gave me so much support through the years and I am thankful for having known you. Accompanied with this letter is a gift that I hope you put to good use (maybe fix the fence so your dog doesn’t get out?). Ha ha! Seriously, though. I loved your dog and I hate for her to get hurt as she brought joy to my life as well.

I wish you a wonderful rest of your life and perhaps we be neighbors again in whatever the afterlife holds for us.

All the best,

Frank
